Community Guidelines
Last updated: June 9, 2026
The Reel Bias is for honest, good-faith debate about how movies lean politically. People will disagree — that's the point. These rules keep it civil. Breaking them can get your content removed and your account banned.
1. No hate speech
Do not attack, dehumanize, demean, or promote violence or hatred against people based on protected characteristics — including race, ethnicity, national origin, immigration status, religion, caste, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, or serious disease. Slurs and dehumanizing language are not allowed.
2. No harassment or threats
No targeted harassment, bullying, stalking, or threats of violence against any person. Do not encourage others to do the same.
3. No doxxing
Do not post private or identifying information about anyone without their consent.
4. No illegal content or infringement
Do not post content that is illegal, or that infringes copyright or other rights. Only upload images you have the right to use. No sexually explicit or graphically violent images.
5. No spam or manipulation
No spam, scams, or unsolicited self-promotion. Do not use multiple accounts, bots, or other tricks to manipulate votes or ratings.
6. Stay on topic and argue in good faith
Criticize ideas and films, not each other. Vote honestly based on what you actually saw. Passionate disagreement is welcome; personal attacks are not.
How we enforce these rules
Like larger platforms, we use a few layers: an automated filter blocks the most obvious hate speech, anyone can Report content with the flag button, and our team reviews reports and takes action — removing content, warning users, or banning repeat or serious offenders. We aim to be fair and consistent, and we err on the side of keeping people safe.
