Terms of Service & User Agreement

These Terms govern your use of The Reel Bias (the "Service"). By using the Service, you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. Eligibility & accounts

You must be at least 16 years old. You are responsible for activity under your account. Sign in is by emailed one-time code or Google; keep your email account secure.

2. Your content

You keep ownership of the comments, votes, and images you submit ("User Content"). You grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, display, and distribute that content on the Service. You represent that you have the rights to everything you post, including any image you upload, and that it does not infringe anyone's rights.

3. Ratings are opinions, not facts

Political-lean labels, percentages, and the position of the meter reflect the aggregated opinions of users who voted. They are not statements of fact about a film, its cast, or its creators, and should not be taken as such.

4. Acceptable use

You agree to follow our Community Guidelines. You will not post hate speech, harassment, threats, illegal content, spam, or content that infringes others' rights, and you will not manipulate votes or impersonate others.

5. User-generated content & limitation of liability

The Service hosts content created by users. We do not author, endorse, or verify User Content, and we are not responsible or liable for it — including any statement that is defamatory, libelous, slanderous, inaccurate, or offensive. Opinions expressed in comments and votes are those of the users who posted them, not of The Reel Bias. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from User Content or your use of the Service, and the Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind.

6. Moderation & termination

We may remove content and suspend or permanently ban accounts at our discretion, with or without notice, including for violations of these Terms or the Community Guidelines.

7. Intellectual property & copyright

Movie titles, posters, and related artwork are the property of their respective owners and are used here for identification and commentary. If you believe content on the Service infringes your copyright, email privacy@thereelbias.com with the work identified, the URL, and your contact information, and we will respond to valid takedown requests.

8. Affiliate disclosure

As an Amazon Associate and through other programs, we may earn commissions from qualifying purchases made through "where to watch" links.

9. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless The Reel Bias from claims arising out of your User Content or your violation of these Terms.

10. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of [Your State], United States, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.

11. Changes

We may update these Terms; continued use after changes means you accept them.
